Location

The Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa is located on Denarau Island. From Nadi International Airport it is about 15 km by taxi to the south. It is one of the many luxury hotels on Denarau Island, which also has golf courses, restaurants and shopping opportunities.

After five minutes by taxi for 8 FJD or around 20 minutes on foot for lau you will reach the Port Denarau Marina with the Port Denarau Shopping Center and its many restaurants and bars. A variety of tours to the islands off the main island also start from here.

One of these small islands is Monuriki, also called Cast Away Island or Tom Hanks Island, where the film “Cast Away” with Tom Hanks was filmed. There are now also artificial islands that are mostly ideal for drinking and chilling out. All of these tours are sold at Port Denarau.

Equipment

All rooms in the resort are housed in individual houses, always on a maximum of two floors. There are different sizes from smaller rooms with garden views to larger apartments with sea views and luxurious suites. The furnishings are of high quality throughout, most of them have a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a free tub, shower and washing machine and dryer, and some of the units even have their own pool in the garden.

Pools

There are different pool areas. A relatively large bathing area is specially designed for smaller children, while a no less large one is aimed at the whole family. There is also an “Adults Only Pool” with a restaurant and bar, where guests without children are in good hands.

Restaurants

In the main restaurant, the “Nuku Restaurant and Bar”, you can eat both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast at Nuku is excellently stocked. In addition to the usual egg dishes, cereals, sausages and so on, exotic dishes are also offered every day – at least for us. Sometimes there are hearty, spicy Asian specialties, sometimes typical dishes from China, sometimes – I don’t know – but every time they are really extremely tasty!

A few meters away the Maravu, an Asian-inspired restaurant for dinner. We ate and drank there very cheaply. The food was the best we had in Fiji. A highly recommended restaurant.

The “Koro” is located next to the adult pool. You can also have breakfast here. The selection isn’t quite as extensive as in Nuku, but here it is – excuse the expression – child-free and therefore much quieter and more relaxed. Please don’t accuse me of racism because of this statement 🙂

There is also the pool bar at the adults only pool, an ice cream stand near the Nuku, and attached to the reception building with many shops, a pub where you can also get snacks and small dishes.

Water sports

For example, SUPs and kayaks are available for use in the sea at no charge. Paid offers include, for example, the rental of jet skis.

What to do?

You can book a variety of offers from local organizers directly at the hotel. You will then be reliably picked up and brought back directly from the lobby for the respective excursions. There is a so-called Bula bus, a transport option that goes to all hotels on Denarau Island and goes to Port Denarau. Day tickets for this Bula bus are currently available for 11 FJD per person.

However, transport by taxi is recommended for more than two people, and is only mentioned here as a tip. The fixed price from Hilton Hotel to Port Denarau is 8 FJD. Calculated down, that’s an unbeatable price per person!

Conclusion of the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa

All in all, the friendliness and warmth of the staff shine above all else. The location is very good, although the sea is not really ideal for swimming. However, the pools are very well maintained. And everything else definitely invites you to come back!
